Rumour: Liverpool to make third offer for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana
Liverpool will go in with a third bid for majestic Southampton playmaker Adam Lallana, after having two offers rebuffed for the England internationals services, report the Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool have been chasing Lallana for a number of weeks and had a bid in the region of £20 million rejected for the England international the first time round. Brendan Rodgers increased the bid, but once more Southampton rejected the offer from the Reds.
The south coast side are holding out for a figure in the region of £30 million and with Liverpool initially reluctant to up their bid, the Reds are now readying themselves to make a swoop for the 26-year-old.
Lallana, who was recently praised by John Barnes, has been one of the stand-out candidates in what was a remarkable season for the Saints.
The likes of Lallana, Lovren and Lambert all played a big part in the hugely successful campaign, however, the Saints have struggled to hold on to their key players.
Lambert has left the club for Liverpool, while manager Mauricio Pochettino also left to take the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of next season.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Rodgers is readying his third bid for Lallana, but if it does not work then he will move for Xherdan Shaqiri or Lazar Markovic.
