Liverpool transfer news: Kuyt says Luis Suarez will be at Anfield next season

Luis Suarez: Will he stay or will he go?

Former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt believes Luis Suarez will be at Anfield next season.

The PFA Player of the Year winner has been strongly linked with a move away from the Merseyside club, with Barcelona and Real Madrid believed to be interested in his services. In addition to this, Suarez's father-in-law has also urged him to make a switch to the La Liga in the summer transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers saw his side finished second in the league last season and will directly make it to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League this season. Kuyt, who has was at Anfield from 2006 to 2012 before joining Fenerbahçe two years ago believes the Champions League football will keep Suarez at Liverpool.

"I think Luis has done a great job in the last couple of years. He’s had some problems off the pitch. He did an amazing job last year at Liverpool and people can see what he’s done at the World Cup,", Kuyt said.

"It’s important that they are in the Champions League next season. I don’t see him leaving for another club. I think he will play in the Champions League with Liverpool."

However, Liverpool could allow Suarez leave after the striker was involved in a biting incident after the 27 year old dug his teeth into Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini's shoulders. The incident happened during Uruguay's narrow 1-0 victory over Italy in the group stage fixture of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

This is the third time Suarez has dug his teeth into a player and is now waiting for a hearing from FIFA. The football's governing body has released a statement they have started an investigation on the striker's biting incident.

With his latest behaviour, it will be interesting to be see if the Spanish clubs would still be interested in signing Suarez. What will also be interesting to see is, Liverpool’s stance on the matter involving Suarez’s wrong doing, if judged guilty by FIFA.
