Liverpool Transfer Rumours: Reds look to sign Georginio Wijnaldum and Ragnar Klavan
Dutch midfielder Georginio Wiljnaldum is on course for a possible move to Liverpool from relegated Newcastle United. Wiljadum has been the centre of attraction for many Premier League teams and it is likely that he will push for a move outside North-East rather than staying at Newcastle and see through their promotion struggle.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is also attempting to rope in Estonian centre-back Ragnar Klavan from Bundesliga side Augsburg for a £3.5 million deal. Klopp was previously interested in Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski from Italian club Udinese but was unable to close on a deal, thus shifting his focus to Georginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum moved to Newcastle at the beginning of last season for a fee of £14.5 million. It is learnt as per reports from the Telegraph that Liverpool are eyeing a £20 million deal for the player though initially, Newcastle had set an amount of £27 million.
Estonian Ragnar Klavan’s move is just a matter of time, he has to complete certain formalities with the German club before heading towards Anfield this week. Klavan played in both the matches against Liverpool during the Europa League clash last season where the Premier League side were eventual winners. He played 125 matches for Augsburg and was also a part of Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. Klavan has also been named Estonia’s player of the year for the past three seasons.
Jurgen Klopp has things to be worried about in his side’s defence line with Slovakian Martin Skrtel sold to Fenerbahce. Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez are both nursing injuries and Joel Matip is playing with a minor ankle injury in pre-season.

Liverpool is one of the most successful football clubs in the world, having won 18 English League titles. But their last league triumph came in 1989-90. Since then, Trophies seems to have eluded from their cabinet. In 2014, they finished 2nd with the help of heroics from Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, but their form slid since the sale of the striker to Barcelona.
German coach Jurgen Klopp was bought by Liverpool to revive their lost glory and he proved his worth after he inspired the Reds to the final of the UEFA Europa League 2015-16.
