Liverpool welcome back Suarez, youngster making waves in Eredivisie

As the Saturday game against Southampton ended on a low note at 1-0; even though the Reds tried desperately for a miraculous comeback, it caused much dismay among supporters of the Reds.

“I felt from the off that we never really got going and to cap it off we gave away a really poor goal. We conceded possession poorly, then we ended up conceding a corner and to have so many defensive minded players and lose a goal like that was criminal really”, Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager told after the game.

However, following the defeat, the only constructive thing that Rodgers can take back with him is the marked end of the 10-match ban on Luis Suarez, meaning that the Uruguayan striker will be available for Liverpool’s thrilling face-off against Manchester United.

“He’s in good condition and has been playing in games behind closed doors. He’s been doing specific work with the conditioning team and will obviously not be 100 per cent to come into these games, which are a different intensity, but he’s a worker and fighter, so just needs games to bring him up to full speed.”

The Liverpool manager who witnessed his side go down for the first time in the league for over six months, is more than happy to welcome the star striker into team.

“Sometimes players like him who are magical can make the difference in games like this. The big positive from today is the fact he is back and the ban is finished.”

There are also rumours circulating that Real Madrid, who were behind the Uruguayan will not make an approach this January.

In other news, Liverpool loan-out to FC Groningen, Krisztian Adorjan, has continued with his show of calibre as a fine football player, scoring three goals in three matches. The 20 year old Liverpool starlet from Hungary, who grabbed many eyeballs in the previous season’s NextGen campaign, has seemingly been bang on target right from the very first game of the league.

Although Groningen wished to have him permanently, Liverpool would only permit him on loan. The young gun surely has a huge potential, and Groningen are undoubtedly reaping great benefits from this kid for the season.
