Lucas Moura ignored Man United's offer in favour of PSG
The 20-year-old Moura said that he rejected an offer from Manchester United to move to Qatari-owned club Paris Saint Germain. The attacking midfielder, a big prospect and the talk of the town last year, moved to Les Rouge-et-Bleu for a reported fee of 35 million euros.
It was because of Leonardo being able to convince him satisfactorily that Lucas agreed to join PSG.
“Manchester United wanted me but I talked a lot with Leonardo and he convinced me,” Lucas told Telefoot TF1.
“It’s an honour for me to play with Ibrahimovic,” he added. “I will learn a lot from this side.”
His father Jorge Moura has praised his son, saying Lucas’ talent is matched by his level-headed approach.
“Lucas is a modest kid,” said Jorge Moura. “He never lost his head and this is priceless.”
PSG are top in Ligue 1 with 38 points from 19 games.
