What's the story?

Man of the Match Lucas Torreira has revealed what Gunners manager Unai Emery said to the team at halftime when they were down 2-1 in the North London derby.

In case you didn't know...

Arsenal played host to neighbours Tottenham Hotspur in a thrilling derby that saw the visitors succumb to a 4-2 defeat at the Emirates.

Having been down 2-1 at the break, the Gunners came from behind with goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira to register the win.

Uruguayan midfielder Torreira was named the Man of the Match for the third time in his last four games for Arsenal, having found the net for the North London outfit for the first time on Sunday.

The heart of the matter

The 22-year-old midfielder has now revealed what Arsenal boss Emery said to the team to inspire them to come back from the first-half deficit.

Speaking about the team-talk after the game, Torreira told ESPN, "[Emery told us] to be calm, to continue playing because there were 45 more minutes left, that we keep attacking because obviously in the second half we were going to find more spaces. In fact, it happened and we scored the goals at key moments."

"In the first half we started very strong, pressing very high, sometimes we managed to steal the ball very high we had many chances after scoring the first goal.

"Then, for different reasons, because of football too, they scored two goals and went ahead.

"In the second half, we made some changes. The players who came on from the bench did very well. We listened to the manager and we improved many things. That worked for us to get the victory."

What's next?

With the victory, Arsenal are now at the fourth place in the Premier League table, level on points with Spurs, and will look to extend their gap as well as their 19-game unbeaten streak when they face Manchester United on Wednesday night.
