Luis Enrique's time at Roma is already heated

Already feeling the heat

Luis Enrique is already feeling the heat of AS Roma manager seat, a row between the Spanish tactician and fans favorite and icon Totti is threatening Di Benedetto new Roma project.

AS Roma Director of Sport Walter Sabatini worried about the current situation between his team manager and team veteran star Totti fearing that the ongoing row will “kill Roma !!”.

Although Sabatini voiced his support for Luis Enrique by asking Totti to help his coach and expect less playing time from what he was used to as in modern football there is no place for untouchable players.

While Enrique will be delighted to hear Thomas DiBenedetto, Roma’s new owner saying:

I’m behind Luis Enrique 100%

The row apparently started when Luis Enrique decided to drop Francesco Totti from the starting line-up of the Europa League play-off lost with Slovan Bratislava, Totti only used for the final 15 minutes in the 1st leg and 74 minutes in the 2nd leg.

Roma new owners opted to build a team with a Barcelona flavor and Luis Enrique was the best option to implement such strategy, and analyzing AS Roma transfers activity show they acquired players who are known of their good technical talent and elegant passes like Argentine Gago, Bosnian Pjanic, and Danish defender Kjaer all are more than comfortable with the passing game type that Roma is craving to install.

Time will tell how successful Enrique will be, he is facing a huge challenge on his top flight managerial debut. Dealing with egos especially Totti and keeping the club passionate fans happy is the main obstacle Enrique should address plus gelling all the new players and current ones with the formation change (a 4-3-3).
