Luis Suarez could take Liverpool to the Court of Arbitration

Arsenal have made a £40,000,001 bid for Liverpool‘s Luis Suarez. Even though Liverpool rejected the offer, they permitted the 26-year-old to discuss personal terms with Arsenal.

If Arsenal have triggered a formal release clause for him, Liverpool can do nothing and will have to sell Suarez.

If Liverpool refuse to do the same then Suarez could use the rule T.30 that allows the Premier League to arbitrate in disputes among players and their clubs, including transfers.

If Suarez takes this step, it would be for the second time that he would have done this. He had earlier lost a similar case in Holland where he wanted to move from Groningen to Ajax reports Telegraph.

Another prominent case that was presided over by the Premier League involved Liverpool and Manchester United, when Liverpool wanted to sign Gabriel Heinze from United in 2007.

The Premier League had also arbitrated Charlie Adam’s dispute with Blackpool in 2010, saying he could not terminate his contract over the non payment of bonus.

There is also a prospect of Liverpool complaining about Arsenal’s bid for Suarez to the Premier League.

Contract clauses have always been confidential and Liverpool were fined £20,000 in the year 2002, when they made an unethical approach for Christian Ziege after they met his Middlesbrough release clause.
