Luis Suarez and Manuel Pellegrini named Premier League player and manager of the month

Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini have been named as the Barclays Premier League player and manager of the month for December.

 

With 10 goals in single Premier League month, Luis Suarez has won the player of the month award ahead of Manchester City stars Alvaro Negredo, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure.

Suarez scored four goals in Liveprool’s 5-1 win over Norwich at Anfield and went on to score two goals in each of the next three games against West Ham, Liverpool and Cardiff.

Luis became the first player in Premier League history to achieve this feat.

Roberto Mancini’s replacement, Manuel Pellegrini won the Barclays award for the first time in his career after guiding Manchester City to a seven-match unbeaten run during December.

Manchester United boss David Moyes, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and Everton’s Roberto Martinez were the other nominees for this award.
