Luis Suarez: We aren't looking to help Lionel Messi beat Cristiano Ronaldo
Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has said that he and his fellow teammates at the club are not playing to ensure that the club’s star forward Lionel Messi beats his rival at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo to La Liga’s top scorer award.
The 27-year-old Argentinian has scored 32 goals in 28 la Liga matches so far and is just one goal ahead of Ronaldo, who has scored 31 in as many games for the Los Blancos this season.
"That's a crazy idea. Messi told me after a few games: 'I thought that you'd score and that's why I didn't move up the pitch.' We apologize to each other when we have not passed the ball,” the Uruguayan revealed.
"Sometimes we should make use of our shared potential even more. All of us want to score goals, but in the end it does not matter for the team who scored the goal,” he added.

The former Liverpool forward also said that while strikers do have the tendency to go for a goal on their own, that isn't in the case with Nou Camp-based club and if he does see the likes of Messi and the rest in a goalscoring position, he passes the ball to them so that they can score.
"To be honest, attackers are selfish by nature, but when I see Messi, [Andres] Iniesta or Xavi in a better position, I pass the ball. And we don't need to talk about Neymar's class,” he said.
Barcelona next face Celta Vigo in an away fixture on April 6th.
