Luis Suarez reveals bet with Neymar ahead of World Cup qualifier
Striker Luis Suarez has revealed he and FC Barcelona team-mate Neymar have made a friendly wager ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Uruguay.
Suarez will represent Uruguay for the first time in almost two years after serving a nine-game ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup, reports Xinhua.
"I have a bet with Neymar. The winner gets a burger," Suarez told a press conference on Tuesday. "He is a great teammate and we always make jokes at Barcelona."
"But whoever wins this game will be enjoying himself and he who loses will be hearing it from the other. Above all, we are team-mates and friends. We will both be trying to give our all for our own team and our country."
"Neymar knows me very well, but I also know him very well. Everything is different on the pitch, though. All rivals know how each opponent plays, but things always pan out differently on the pitch and you have to deal with it."
Suarez has been in superb form for Barcelona this season, scoring 43 goals from 42 matches across all competitions.
Friday's match at Pernambuco Arena here will be followed by another round of qualifiers next Tuesday. Uruguay will host Peru in Montevideo while Brazil will clash with Paraguay in Asuncion.
