Luis Suarez appeared to be biting Branislav Ivanovic on the arm in the second half of a controversial 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Anfield yesterday.

November 2007:

After a half-time dressing room argument with his team-mate Albert Luque, Suarez was suspended by the Amsterdam club Ajax.

July 2010:

A deliberate handball on the line, thus preventing Ghana’s Dominic Adiyiah from scoring in the final minute of the 2010 World Cup quarter-final. Suarez was immediately sent off and a penalty was awarded but Asamoah Gyan missed it and Suarez celebrated on the sidelines.

November 2010:

Suarez got a seven-match ban by the Dutch FA and he was fined by his club for biting Otman Bakkal of PSV Eindhoven.

October 2011:

Jack Rodwell of Everton was controversially sent off after being involved in a tackle with Suarez. Apparently, Suarez had gone down with no contact.

October 2011:

Suarez was banned for eight matches and fined £40,000 after being found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United‘s Patrice Evra during a Premier League match.

December 2011:

Being already charged by the FA, Suarez was seen making an offensive gesture towards Fulham fans. As he wasn’t yet punished for the earlier incident, he was handed a further one-match ban for the gesture.

February 2012:

Suarez refuses to shake Evra’s hand before kick-off at Old Trafford, ensuring further controversy.

October 2012:

Everton manager, David Moyes had claimed that “divers such as Suarez are putting fans off the English game.” After that, Suarez celebrated a goal against Everton by diving in front of him.

January 2013:

In the FA Cup third-round tie at Mansfield, Suarez handled the ball before scoring Liverpool‘s winner.

March 2013:

After a tussle with Gonzalo Jara during a World Cup qualifier, Suarez appeared to punch the Chilean defender. As the referee failed to see the incident, Fifa launched an investigation that could yet lead to a ban.
