Mallorca vs Almeria prediction, preview, team news and more | La Liga 2023-24

Mallorca and Almeria go head-to-head at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix in the penultimate round of the 2023-24 La Liga campaign on Sunday. While the visitors have been mathematically relegated, Javier Aguirre’s men need a win from their final two games to guarantee their top-flight status as they currently sit four points above the relegation zone.

Mallorca picked up a huge point in their relegation dogfight as they fought back from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw with Osasuna in midweek.

Prior to that, Aguirre’s side snapped their six-match winless run across all competition on May 11 courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas on home turf.

With 36 points from 36 matches, Mallorca are currently 17th in the La Liga standings, four points above the dreaded relegation zone with two games to go.

Meanwhile, already-relegated Almeria suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona when the sides met at the Estadio del Mediterráneo on Thursday.

Pepe Mel’s men have failed to win six of their last seven outings — losing five and claiming one draw — with a 1-0 victory at Rayo Vallecano being the exception.

Almeria are rooted to the bottom of the league table, having picked up just 17 points from 36 matches, and will be looking to go down with their heads held high.

Mallorca vs Almeria Head-To-Head

With 10 wins from the last 23 meetings between the sides, Mallorca hold a slightly superior record in the history of this fixture. Almeria have picked up seven wins in that time, while the spoils have been shared on six occasions. Mallorca have won their last six home games against Almeria, stretching back to a 4-1 defeat in January 2011.
