Mamadou Sakho makes a speech at ex-club PSG before their match with Monaco
Liverpool new-boy Mamadou Sakho made a heartfelt speech to the fans of his former club Paris Saint-Germain before the faced rivals Monaco in Ligue 1. The Daily Mail reports.
The defender made a comeback to his ex-club just a day after being a part of the Liverpool side that lost 1-0 to Southampton.
Sakho made his speech to the PSG fans with his daughter in his arms just before kickoff.
The 23-year-old stated that he could make a comeback to PSG in the future and said: ‘I’m very proud to be here tonight. I remember when I was young, I was up there, there in the stands and watched PSG play. My story with PSG isn’t over yet’.
The France international was cheered by the supporters and even cried during his speech.
Sakho began playing for PSG as a twelve year old and was with the French champions for eleven years before moving to Liverpool for £15 million on deadline day this year.
PSG and Monaco had both their star strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Radamel Falcao find the back of the net as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
