Manchester City transfer news: Cityzens no longer interested in Real Madrid ace, PSG star tops Guardiola's wishlist, and more - 3rd April 2018
Eljif Elmas is on the radar of Manchester City
According to latest reports, Manchester City are set to battle Borussia Dortmund to land Fenerbahce midfielder Eljif Elmas.
There have been reports that Pep Guardiola is keeping tabs on the 18-year-old, who is attracting interest from Eredivisie clubs Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven as well.
Despite his age, the Macedonian international, who joined the Turkish Super Lig giants at the beginning of this season from his local FK Rabotnicki Skopje, has already made two appearances for his national side following his debut in July 2017.
Isco no longer on Manchester City's wanted list
Last week, there were reports that Manchester City are locked in a four-way battle with Chelsea, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain to secure the services of Real Madrid playmaker Isco.
However, according to latest reports in the Express, Manchester United have also roared into the race for the 25-year-old and their city rivals have decided not to make a move for Isco this summer.
Valued at a whopping £88m, the midfielder has been struggling for consistency at Santiago Bernabeu as he has started just 18 La Liga games this season.
"In Madrid, I don't have the confidence a player needs," Isco said.
There have also been claims that Isco and Real boss Zinedine Zidane do not see eye-to-eye as the Spaniard thinks that the French manager does not have faith in his capabilities.
"Maybe I'm the problem in Madrid and don't know how to win Zidane's confidence", Isco said.
Following a hat-trick in Spain's 6-1 thrashing of Argentina last week, there were speculations that City were prepared to double Isco's wages to bring him to the Etihad Stadium but now it seems that Guardiola has other targets.
Isco has made 36 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
Guardiola to convince Neymar to join Manchester City
According to the Express, Real Madrid and Manchester United have been continually linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, but Guardiola is trying to convince the Brazilian to reject both high-profile clubs for Manchester City.
Zidane is keen to radically overhaul his squad this summer, while Jose Mourinho reportedly wants Neymar as a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who joined LA Galaxy.
Despite joining the Ligue 1 giants for a world-record fee of £198million in the summer, the 26-year-old is reportedly unhappy at the Parc des Princes.
Los Blancos reportedly have doubts about paying over £350m for the player who has hit 27 goals for the Qatari-owned club, while Neymar not interested in playing under Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Therefore, Guardiola, who signed him for Barcelona though ultimately never managed him, remains the frontrunner to land the striker.
