Manchester City up against Real Madrid for Edinson Cavani
The challenge is on for Manchester City, as Real Madrid have stepped up the ladder to reach out and grab Napoli forward, Edinson Cavani.
After having lost Mario Balotelli to AC Milan, City boss Roberto Mancini was hoping to secure an alternative in Cavani, who has been in the spotlight for all the right reasons.
The desperate Italian will seemingly face an hectic summer ahead, with Real emerging as fierce contenders in landing the tireless player. Cavani is also being closely watched by PSG.
According to Sportsmail, officials from the Bernabeu have started discussing the monetary issues with Cavani’s advisors, and are hopeful of making an early deal, especially with his £52 million release clause. Even with City being interested, Real Madrid are likely to counter anything that comes in their way, making their intentions of buying the player very clear.
