Manchester City reportedly ready to bid £150m for Barcelona duo Neymar and Sergio Busquets
With the winter transfer window having closed, the focus has already shifted to the upcoming summer transfer window with speculation involving some of the biggest superstars and their immediate future thrown into the spotlight. The biggest one yet? Premier League giants, Manchester City, are reportedly trying to procure the services of Barcelona superstars Neymar and Sergio Busquets with a whopping £150m bid.
Neymar has started this season in exceptional style and was instrumental in keeping the Catalans going strong while Lionel Messi was out injured. The Brazilian has gone on to score 21 times in 28 appearances confidently reassuring fans of his quality and prowess. He's also been brilliant with setting up his teammates with 13 assists to his name.
Neymar has been such a big success at Barcelona – after having joined from Santos – that he's been linked with the enemy, Real Madrid. However, his team at Catalonia has been troubled with off-field incidents most notably with the tax invasion charges filed against him and it's often suggested that he's willing to look for a move elsewhere to ensure these tax problems die down with Manchester City a touted destination.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola's love for Sergio Busquets is something the world is aware of. Having been the one to promote Busquets through to the first team at Barcelona, the current Bayern Munich manager is reportedly interested in working with him again at Manchester City.
If the Citizens do manage to pull off this deal, it would represent the beginning of a new era at the club. With Ivorian-duo Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony reportedly looking for other clubs, the arrival of the Barcelona will usher in a fresh new midfield and forward line for the two-time Premier League champions.
