Manchester City's Carlos Tevez on Monaco's radar
Big spending French side AS Monaco are eyeing Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez as a potential transfer target.
The Mirror reports Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, who has already made a staggering £50 million move to bring Atletico Madrid hit-man Radamel Falcao to the club, is looking forward to pairing the Columbian with the Argentinian Tevez.
The Monaco owner is also prepared to spend big to land the likes of Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye, fellow midfielder Joao Moutinho of Porto, and Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho.
It remains to be seen if the billionaire is also targeting former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, who was sacked earlier on Monday.
With a personal fortune of £6 billion and increased TV revenue coming into French football, Rybolovlev is determined to spend big and land bigger names to the club.
Monaco are prepared to out-bid Chelsea for Falcao, both in terms of transfer fee and a £8m-a-year after-tax contract for the Colombian striker.
Chelsea were confident of landing Falcao just two weeks ago, when fellow suitors Manchester City switched interest to Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
Tevez has just over a year left on his contract at the Etihad, and the striker may reconsider his options post the dramatic sacking of manager Roberto Mancini.
