Manchester United 2-1 Brighton: 3 things observed | Premier League 2018-19

Manchester United came into this game on the back of a huge win against Tottenham Hotspur away at Wembley. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer initially named an unchanged eleven from the last game, but Shaw was later replaced by Dalot on the left, as the former had taken ill just before the start of the game.

Solskjaer lined United up in a much familiar 4-3-3, with Marcus Rashford playing as a centre forward, Anthony Martial on the left, Jesse Lingard on the right, and Paul Pogba as the number 10.

In the first 20 minutes of the game, Manchester United had much of the ball, but were finding it hard to open Brighton. The first goal came from a penalty earned by Paul Pogba, and scored by him after he was brought down by Bong.

The second goal was a piece of magic by a man in the form of his life, Marcus Rashford, who scored with a brilliant finish from an impossible angle.

In the second half, the pattern of play was much similar, United had much of the ball and were creating chances. Brighton though pulled one back, and the goal was scored by Pascal Gross after a good chest control.

The last 10 minutes were nervy for Manchester United, as Brighton attacked with all they had. But United were able to hold on, and Solskjaer made it 7 wins out of 7 games in charge.

Here are the 3 things we learned from Manchester United's victory.

With this victory, his seventh consecutive one, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has crept into the history books yet again, becoming the first Manchester United manager to win his first 6 Premier League games in charge of United.

He has completely transformed the mood of the Old Trafford faithful, and has brought back the attacking football United were known for.

This feat is massive for the Norwegian, who has made his candidature for the full-time job pretty obvious.
