Rumour: Manchester United reach an agreement with Arturo Vidal
There has been a feeling of gloom around Old Trafford, at the start of the new season, with Manchester United humiliatingly losing to League One side MK Dons 4-0 in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night following their disappointing 1-1 draw to Sunderland in the Premier League last weekend. The gloom might be about to change with Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport reporting that the Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is on the verge of completing his long-drawn-out move to the Red Devils.
The Manchester based club have been lacking a midfielder of Vidal’s ilk and quality over the last few years and have shown a keen interest in the 27-year old ever since the start of this summer. Juventus though have been resolute in their resolve to not let one of their marquee players leave the club.
The Italian giants might have finally budged, though, with Gazzetta reporting that the player’s agent Fernando Felicevich was spotted in Manchester on Tuesday and that the move, which is somewhere in the region of €42 million, should be finalized within the next 24-48 hours.
In case Vidal, who signed for the club from Turin in 2011, does leave as is expected, it is believed that Juventus will look to secure the services of Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin as a replacement for the Chilean.
