Rumour: Manchester United eyeing superstar midfielder
Manchester United have made an enquiry to Juventus for the services of midfielder Arturo Vidal.
David Moyes is known to be on the lookout for a powerful and creative midfielder to help turn things around at United after struggling in his first season at the club.
According to the Metro, reports in Italy claim they have asked Juve to name their price for the midfield dynamo, who is allegedly unsettled in Turin.
United are seventh in the Premier League, while Juventus are eight points clear at the top of Serie A so, even if the Italians were to negotiate with Man Utd, one would feel that Vidal would reject the move anyway.
Vidal, who has created 39 goalscoring chances so far this season, is rated at around £15 million, and has been a long-term target for United scouts, who have tracked the Chilean international’s progress for years.
United would be prepared to wait until the summer to sign Vidal if they could not agree terms during the current transfer window.
Arturo Vidal has 10 goals in Serie A this season. Only Carlos Tevez, Domenico Berardi (11) and Giuseppe Rossi (14) have more.
