Manchester United awarded for stand-out customer experience
English Premier League champions Manchester United has been awarded the club of the year title by VisitFootball for their standout customer services.
The decision was made by a panel of industry experts from tourism and customer service industries arranged by VisitFootball, a joint venture of EPL and national tourism board.
“Champions on the pitch and now champions off it. Previous VisitFootball inspections showed that Manchester United already provided a superb supporter journey, but last season they really raised the bar,” said the Award’s judges on United’s success.
“From the introduction of a ‘Supporter Assistance Team’ who provides additional help and advice for supporters on their arrival at Old Trafford, through to all their staff who provides excellent service at every turn, this is a stand-out customer experience. Not only are their people well-trained, efficient and friendly, there is a sense of safety and security that all adds up to a journey you want to go on again and again,” they added.
Meanwhile, Liverpool won the Best Fan Innovation award for the club’s Family Park project. Fulham staff earned the Warmest Welcome award while Wigan Athletic steward Jo Roberts won the Unsung Hero award for his dedicated work with disabled fans.
