Manchester United bid £27 million for Southampton's Luke Shaw
Manchester United have reportedly submitted a £27 million bid for Southampton left back Luke Shaw.
Luke Shaw is on the radar of many English clubs and Manchester United have acted quickly and wasted no time in chasing the English full back especially with age catching up with veteran defender Patrice Evra. Evra’s contract expires this summer and he is still coy over his future.
Luke Shaw would be an ideal replacement for the French full back. He had an impressive game against United on the final day of the season at St. Mary’s where he got a standing ovation from the fans when he was subbed off. He was also hugged by interim player-manager Ryan Giggs.
In the past, Manchester United have splashed the cash on English talents like Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney, both of whom have proved their worth for the money that was spent on them. Luke Shaw at 18 and being an experienced campaigner in the Premier League, would be an ideal transfer for Manchester United if he puts pen to paper.
#MUFC apparently keen to sign Luke Shaw from Southampton and get business done before World Cup. Van Gaal could happen on Wednesday.
