Rumour: Manchester United get boost in chase of £25m rated Premier League star
Good news is the only thing Manchester United are hearing right now. After signing Juan Mata in a club record deal, a few days ago, Moyes has received another boost in the transfer market. United’s pursuit of Yohan Cabaye has been well documented and reports from France have revealed that PSG boss Laurent Blanc has hinted at giving up on a January move for Manchester United target.
The Frenchman who was, last summer courted by Arsenal, who had a bid for the player laughed off was on PSG’s radar for some time now, with the Parisian club reportedly willing to part with £17m in order to land the player. Although that was well short of Newcastle’s evaluation of £25m, it looked as though it was going to be enough. But, it has now emerged that the club are looking at Roma’s Miralem Pjanic as an alternative to Cabaye. The Bosnian midfielder is five years Cabaye’s junior and that might well be what has shifted PSG’s eyes towards him.
According to Metro, PSG’s coach revealed “Pjanic could be interesting for Paris Saint-Germain for the winter transfer window” and also went onto add that the Bosnian “could be an alternative to Cabaye”.
With Arsenal counting themselves out of the race to sign the Frenchman and PSG looking elsewhere for signings, it looks as though the coast is clear for United to bring the £25m rated French central midfielder to Old Trafford before the end of the window.
With Moyes having set his mind on the need for an overhaul of the squad, the Frenchman certainly looks like a much needed acquisition if United are to get into the top four by the end of the season.
