Manchester United Go To Newcastle

Manchester United pack their gear and travel to the North East to take on Newcastle United at St James’s Park this weekend. Manchester United and Newcastle met just one week ago in the Capital One Cup Third Round when The Reds beat The Magpies by 2–1 at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Oliveira Anderson and Tom Cleverley.

Manchester United managed to edge out Romanian Liga One champions CFR Cluj by 2–1 at the intimidating Dr. Constantin Radulescu Stadium in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, while Newcastle United beat French Ligue One side FC Girondins de Bordeaux by 3–0 at St James´s Park in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

In the corresponding Premier League fixture last campaign, Alan Pardew´s Newcastle overcame Manchester United by 3–0 at home courtesy of goals from Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye and an own goal from England international defender Phil Jones. New signing Robin van Persie is in a great goal scoring mood at the moment, however, and the Netherlands international could be the difference between the two teams this time around.
