Manchester United rumour: Laurent Blanc keeps Inter Milan waiting with one eye on Jose Mourinho's job
Inter Milan manager Frank De Boer is under immense pressure from all corners as the Nerazzurri have struggled under the former Ajax man this season. Inter Milan owner Erick Thohir is reported to be weighing his options before sacking De Boer with former PSG manager, Laurent Blanc currently on top of Inter's wish list.
Blanc played at the San Siro between 1999 and 2001 as his former links with the club may aid his cause but he is also rumored to be holding on for the Manchester United job if they part company with Jose Mourinho.
Thohir is seemed to be unhappy with the current form of the club as despite spending big this summer, Inter have failed to mount a title challenge to stand up to Juventus' might at the summit. Milan signed the duo of Joao Mario and Gabriel Barbosa for a sum of around €70 million with the new owner bringing in a lot of money for the Nerazzurri. Inter are also said to be targeting former player Diego Simeone whose contract at Atletico Madrid is up in 2018.

Inter Milan have been reported to be offering huge amounts to lure a top notch manager to replace the struggling De Boer, though the money won't be an issue for Blanc who made a cool €22 million when PSG terminated his contract this summer. Unai Emery replaced Blanc for the French champions this summer after PSG's board deciding to part company with Blanc after not meeting with their European desires.
Many reports have emerged from the French press that though the World Cup winning defender is lured by the idea being Inter Milan's manager, he has eyes set on the Old Trafford dugout since long. He was one of the names to be discussed after the sacking of David Moyes but was neglected by the United board in favor of Louis Van Gaal.
Blanc played for Manchester United between 2001 and 2003 where he ended his illustrious playing career. According to Le Perisian, Blanc is no hurry to get back to management as he is waiting to see how Jose Mourinho's time at the Manchester clubs pans out.
The Portuguese has endured a tough start to his United stint as his methods have not gone well with the Red Devils faithful. His big money signings too have failed to inspire performances as Mourinho still seems to be hungover from Chelsea's disastrous showing from the last season which got him sacked.
