Manchester United set to compete against Wigan this weekend

Fol­low­ing the inter­na­tional break, Manchester United take on local rivals Wigan Ath­letic at Old Traf­ford this com­ing Sat­urday. The Lat­ics defeated Manchester United the last time the teams met in the Barclays Premier League, with for­ward think­ing mid­field man Shaun Malo­ney scor­ing the only goal of the game early in the second period.

Manchester United edged out newly pro­moted Southamp­ton 3–2 at St Mary´s in their last league match thanks to a bril­liant treble from sum­mer sign­ing Robin van Per­sie. Roberto Martinez´s Wigan Ath­letic, mean­while, could only man­age a 2–2 draw against Stoke City at DW Sta­dium.
