Manchester United target Edinson Cavani indicates Paris Saint-Germain exit is still on
Edinson Cavani has fuelled more speculation that he could be set for the Paris Saint Germain exit door after claiming ‘anything is possible’ when probed about his future.
The Uruguayan joined the Ligue 1 champions last summer from Napoli but he is thought to be open to a move away from the French capital after playing in the shadows of Zlatan Ibrahimovic following his £55 million transfer.
Manchester United are known admirers with ex-boss David Moyes travelling to France on several occasions but it emerged that incoming manager Louis van Gaal poured cold water on their interest with Cavani’s £300,000-a-week wages deemed excessive.
Although admitting he is currently at one of the world’s biggest clubs, there was an indication his future is yet to be decided when asked at Uruguay’s World Cup base in Brazil.
“Luis Suarez and I are already at great clubs,” He told Le 10 Sport.
“We belong to teams that are among the best in the world. I think we defend the colours of our club with pride and prestige.
“But in football, you never know, anything can happen. One day you’re in one team and the next you can be in another.”
Cavani has completed 86% of his passes this season, while he has also scored 16 goals this season.
