Manchester United are set to make their first formal bid for Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Sean Longstaff had a brilliant debut season for Newcastle last season. The 21-year old broke into Rafa Benitez plans after an impressive pre-season for the toons.
Longstaff, who came up through the youth Academy of the Toons before making his debut for his boyhood club last year, made 9 appearances in all season and scored once for the club. A knee ligament injury in March sidelined the midfielder for the rest of the season.
Manchester United have been undergoing a major change to their transfer policy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to add young and hungry British players to his side. The Norweign is looking to continue the tradition set by his mentor Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils have already made this policy clear by bringing in 21-year old Daniel James from Swansea City and 21-year old Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward are expected to add more new names to his side before the end of the transfer window.

According to English daily Telegraph, Manchester United are set to make a formal approach to sign highly rated 21-year old midfielder Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.
The report states that the 21-year old is reportedly available for a transfer fee of around £25 million. The Manchester United board is reportedly looking to do one transfer at a time and is now looking to add Longstaff from Newcastle after adding Wan-Bissaka and negotiating a contract with Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United will start their pre-season this month starting with a trip down to Australia on Sunday before moving to Singapore, Shanghai and finally to Norway before the start of the Premier League.
