Manchester United Transfer Rumour: Red Devils chasing Gonzalo Higuain
Manchester United, according to reports, are trying to land Gonzalo Higuain in the winter transfer window. The 28-year-old striker is looking for a move away from Italy, after reportedly falling out of favour with manager Massimiliano Allegri.
Sources at Juventus and Manchester United tell us that the Argentinian star isn’t too happy with his time at Juventus and is hoping that United go through with their plan of landing him. Jose Mourinho is reportedly disappointed with his attacking department, with the squad failing to convert their chances.
The manager saw his side take a total of 17 shots against West Ham in their last Premier League matchup which ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw. A solitary goal from striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn't enough to convince the Portuguese manager of his side's attacking potency.
With United having the lowest chance conversion rate in the Premier League so far (9.1 shots per goal), the manager is desperate to change things. A recurring problem such as this raises questions over the quality of United's attackers and Jose Mourinho believes, Higuain can be the answer.

The World Cup finalist feels that he’ll enjoy his time playing in England, especially at a big club like Manchester United. He has made 18 appearances for Juventus so far, scoring nine times and assisting once. The player will command a massive transfer fee, but with United’s treasure chest, money shouldn’t be an issue if it could solve their problems.
The striker had a stellar 2015-16 season, spearheading Napoli's attack in both Italy and Europe. He scored a massive 38 goals in 42 appearances, and a number of clubs sat up and noticed. With a fee of €90 million paid in two instalments, Juventus snapped him on the 26th of July, as they turned the Higuain deal into one of the biggest football transfers of all-time.
The striker has a history of falling out with club management. Speaking after his move to Juventus, the striker blamed Napoli president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, saying that their relationship had become untenable. "It was my decision to leave, but it was [De Laurentiis] who pushed me into making it. I'd like to thank the fans and my teammates, but not De Laurentiis. I no longer had a relationship with him; I couldn't stand another minute with him."
If rumours are to be believed, United would love to sign the striker on a 6-month loan, during the winter transfer window with an option of permanently making the Argentinian striker a United player. It is not yet clear how much money is involved, but United are also interested in off-loading a number of United players. Bastian Schweinsteiger, who reportedly earns around £200,000-per-week, is on top of that list.
