Official: Massimiliano Allegri sacked as AC Milan manager
After much speculation and decision making, AC Milan has finally announced the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri as their manager.
Allegri was appointed as the new manager of Milan on 25 June, 2010 and has led Milan to their first championship title since 2004 and their sixth Supercoppa Italiana.
The statement on their official website read: “AC Milan announce that they have dismissed Mr. Massimiliano Allegri as coach of the first team and his staff, with immediate effect.”
“AC Milan would like to thank Mr. Allegri and his staff for the work they have done and wishes them best for their professional achievements. The team is tentatively assigned to the technical guidance of Mr. Mauro Tassotti.”
Massimiliano Allegri has won just 5 Serie A games at Milan this season. Milan find themselves 11th in the table, 30 points behind League leaders Juventus.
