Messi accepts languish performance with Argentina

Lionel Messi completely accepted the fact that he wished he could perform better, and be as successful with Argentina as he has been with the Blaugrana.

Football pundits have often said that the player shows a greater affection and love to win titles with the Barca team rather than with Argentina. But the three-time Ballon d’Or winner said that his sole focus was on winning the 2014 World Cup, and wants nothing more than for his South American country to succeed.

“I wish we could win as many titles as we can in Barcelona and qualify for the World Cup with Argentina,” the superstar told Ole.

“I’ve had many nice moments with the national team and others that were not so good. Throughout this last year, we have enjoyed things and got together. I always expect to improve in everything, and that includes my career.”

Messi also conveyed his best regards for Barca coach, Tito Vilanova, after he underwent surgery following a cancer relapse last month.

“Tito lives together with us (in Barcelona) and for him I give my best wishes that his health gets better,” Messi added. “Outside of work, I always ask for health, which is the most important thing.”

Barcelona are on top of the table with 49 points and 16 points ahead of Real Madrid.
