Messi meets the kid whose handshake he accidentally missed!
The whole world was buzzing about something before the start of Argentina’s group opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It wasn’t about the action that was awaiting them though, it was about a small incident which made us all feel bad.
Messi went straight to the match officials to shake hands with them ignoring a young mascot. It was purely unintentional, but it made headlines. The little boy felt hearbroken when Messi went past him, and by the time Messi returned back, the boy had already left the place dejected.
His detractors seized upon the moment to criticise the Argentine magician. But moments later pictures emerged on the Internet which had Messi seated alongside the little boy whom he had missed.

Also after the game got over, in the press conference, Messi had defended himself saying that he didn’t see the kid.
“How could it be that I did not want to greet the boy? I just did not realise he was there. In fact, I spoke to two other children in the line,” said Messi.
“I would never do such a thing when I have a nephew and young son, I would never do such a thing with a boy,” added the Barcelona striker.
