Messi, Puyol and Xavi renew their contracts

Messi celebrates his record breaking goal along with Puyol and Xavi against Real Betis.

Barcelona has confirmed on twitter saying that Carles Puyol, Xavi Hernandez and Lionel Messi have renewed their contracts with the club.

Puyol and Xavi have remained with the club through the ups and downs and Messi is widely regarded as the ‘Superstar’ of the club. All the three players along with Andres Iniesta and Victor Valdes have been holding the key in maintaining the atmosphere in the dressing room.

Barcelona striker David Villa is being linked with a potential move to Liverpool.
