Rumours: Have pictures of Lionel Messi's outfit for the Ballon d'Or gala been leaked?
Lionel Messi, the magician of contemporary football is known for being quite extravagant with his dressing style. The time for the Ballon d’Or ceremony is almost upon us and Messi can definitely be expected to wear something flashy to the ceremony.
The Argentine international is the favourite for the Ballon d’Or award with Cristiano Ronaldo and the Argentine’s teammate Neymar the other two nominees for the award.
PIctures going around on Twitter indicate that the suit he is about to wear has been revealed and it shows a pattern quite similar to the one Messi sported back in 2012. His suit in 2012 was a black polka suit with white dots. Well, this time around, whoever selected the suit has replaced the dots with crowns.
The pictures of his rumoured suit for tonight were leaked on Twitter. Here they are:

If Messi wins the award tonight, it will be his fifth Ballon D’Or trophy and with that, he will set a record that will be difficult for somebody other than perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo to break. Ronaldo is the only other player still playing who has three Ballon d’Ors to his name.
When Messi’s fashion sense was actually applauded
Earlier, a picture had come out of the Barcelona players all dressed up and posing in front of the camera after the El Clasico. It consisted of Adriano, Douglas, Dani Alves, Neymar, Rafinha alongside Messi.
However, The Independent’s online fashion reporter Linda Sharkey had something interesting to say about Messi’s dressing sense here. She rather preferred Messi’s ‘boring’ style to the rest. This is what she had to say,
"This group shot is confusing, there is so much going on… Maybe these were the only garments left in their lockers and had to mix everything up?
"The golden shoes on Dani Alves are impossible to ignore, and so is that tight denim blazer on Adriano (is blood circulating through those arms?), but it is Messi who fails to impress.
"And in this case, that's a good thing. The Argentinian star’s fashion sense has always been questionable and besides that maroon tuxedo he wore for the Ballon d’Or (above), he rarely dares to play with his wardrobe. He might be too young to wear such boring attire, but I’d rather go for a simple grey look, than red trousers and shiny shoes."
