With Mexico co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they will be keen on building a solid foundation as they look to compete against the very best on home soil in two years.
Jamaica, a team in the ascendancy, head into Saturday’s group opener in fine form and will be looking to cause the first major upset of the tournament.
Heimir Hallgrímsson’s side have won their last three matches across all competitions, including a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Panama in the CONCACAF Nations League third-place playoff in March.
However, Jamaica’s record in the Copa America is nothing to be desired as they have crashed out in the group stages in their previous two outings, having lost all six matches so far.
