Midfielders of the month - September: The nominees

3. Cesc Fabregas – Barcelona

Having refused explicit overtures from Manchester United over the summer, Fabregas has done plenty to justify his decision to stay back with the Blaugrana, and more. His achievements for September include two assists in a narrow win over Valencia, as well as scoring the lone goal in a 1 – 0 win over Celtic, among others.
