Milan legend Paolo Maldini urges Cassano to stay, doesn't expect Kaka to return
One club man, AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini has said that he doesn’t see Kaka returning to Milan.
“I didn’t expect Kaka to flop at Real Madrid. I don’t think that the right conditions exist, with regard to a return to Milan”.
The player who managed more than 900 appearances for Milan also urged striker Antonio Cassano to stay at the club and fight for his place. Cassano, bought by Milan during the January transfer window, managed 17 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneris despite facing stiff competition from Pato, Ibrahimovic and Robinho for a place in the starting XI. Maldini said,
“Cassano should stay at Milan. A player with his skills and characteristics should play for an ambitious and great club like this”.
The defender also added that he expects Milan to be the favorites for next season. Praising Allegri, Maldini said,
“Milan will be the favorites for the next season’s Serie A. They will reinforce themselves and they also have a great coach”.
On being asked to comment on Milan’s transfer targets, the legendary defender said,
“Hamsik or Ganso? I would choose Ganso, although I don’t know that much about him. We all know Hamsik and he’s a good player. I also like Tevez because of his mentality. He always works hard for the team and sacrifices himself. I don’t expect Thiago Silva to leave the club. He is the best defender in the world, both because of his technical and physical abilities.”
