Minsk beaten by Liegein in Europa League playoff
Minsk, Aug 23 - Belarusian club Minsk lost 0-2 to Belgium’s R. Standard de Liegein in the first leg of the Europa League play-off in Grodno.
In the first half Thursday, Standard attacked more and had some good moments for a goal while Minsk mostly played on the counter-attack, reports Xinhua.
In the 56th minute, Michy Batshuayi opened the scoring for the visitors and at the end of the second time Frederic Bulot made it two up.
The return game will be held in Belgium, Aug 29.
The winner of the qualifying matches will reach the Europa League group stage whose first matches will be held Sep 19.
