Mohamed Salah agrees terms for AS Roma switch, could free-up space for Cuadrado move
Italian Serie A side, AS Roma are said to have agreed a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah, with an option to buy for a transfer fee of €17 million. However, Jose Mourinho had earlier said that it would take a “phenomenal” offer to sign the Egyptian.
But, Italian football journalist, GianLuca Marzio has reported that Salah’s transfer to Roma is imminent. According to him, Roma are on the verge of finishing the paperwork for the player and have agreed personal terms with the 22-year old.
The terms state that Salah could be sent back within a time-frame of 12 months, if he fails to impress. If that is the case, the loan fee of €500,000 would be refunded by Chelsea. The fee of €17 million will increase on the basis of UEFA Champions League qualification for the Italian club.
Salah’s salary is said to be around €2.2 million, till the end of June 2019.
Speculation is high that Salah’s exit could fasten the Juan Cuadrado transfer from Fiorentina. However, the Italian club has set a price tag of £26.8 million, which is being negotiated between both parties at this moment. Andre Schurrle’s future could also be in doubt as the World Cup winner is being linked with a move away to Borussia Dortmund or VFL Wolfsburg.
