Mohammedan Sporting coach Sanjoy Sen resigns
I-League promoted Mohammedan Sporting Club will have to search for a new head coach as Sanjoy Sen resigned from the post yesterday and will not coach the club next season due to personal reasons. The promotion of Mohammedan Sporting this season has been credited to Sanjoy Sen and his coaching, as the team, going into the 2nd Division I-League, wasn’t in the best of shape and Sanjoy Sen joined just days before the league started. But still he got the best out of the players, even compensated for injuries and, in the end, made it to the I-League.
The 1891 founded club wanted to retain Sanjoy Sen, but due to personal family reasons he is unable to commit himself to the club. Therefore, Sanjoy Sen resigned now rather then trying to do justice to both and then pulling out later.
Now Mohammedan Sporting will have to look for a suitable replacement with some names already making the rounds in Kolkata with the club saying that they would announce the name of the new coach by May 15 as the new man in charge, with the help of the club management, would have to build a suitable I-League team to avoid relegation.
