Mohun Bagan to play friendly on May 1 in Kathmandu
The Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan AC will take on Nepal Super League champions Three Star Club in a friendly match on Wednesday, May 1 at the Dasrath Rangashala Stadium at 5pm local time. Mohun Bagan fly to Kathmandu on April 30 and return to Kolkata on the evening of May 2.
Last year, Mohun Bagan had also played a friendly in Kathmandu, that time against Nepal Police which the Mariners lost 0-2 with the goals scored by Santosh Sahukhala and Bharat Khawas.
With Mohun Bagan fighting to survive relegation from the I-League, the timing of the friendly match can be questioned though they have a break between I-League matches as they face Pailan Arrows on April 28 and then travel to Goa to face Churchill Brothers on May 7. Also it isn’t clear if Mohun Bagan are going to send their best possible squad to Kathmandu.
