Montenegro vs Iceland Prediction and Betting Tips | November 16th 2024
Montenegro and Iceland return to action in the UEFA Nations League when they lock horns at the Gradski Stadion Niksic on Saturday. Robert Prosinečki’s Montenegro are one of just six sides yet to taste victory in the campaign and will head into the weekend looking to end this dry spell.
Montenegro failed to stop the rot in the 2024 Nations League as they suffered a 1-0 loss against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on October 14. Prosinečki’s side, who are 75th in the latest FIFA World Rankings, have lost all four games in the campaign to sit rock-bottom in Group B4.
Montenegro’s underwhelming performance has been owing to their struggles in front of goal, having netted just once so far while shipping in six at the opposite end of the pitch.
Iceland, on the other hand, suffered a major blow in their push for promotion as they fell to a 4-2 defeat against Turkey at home last time out.
Åge Hareide’s men have now failed to win their last three matches, losing twice and claiming one draw since kicking off the campaign with a 3-0 victory over Montenegro on September 6.
With four points from a possible 12, Iceland are currently third in the Group B4 standings, four points behind second-placed Wales in the promotion playoff spot with two games to go.
