Montpellier agree €14m deal with Inter for Belhanda
Inter Milan have reportedly agreed to a €14m deal with Montpellier for their highly rated midfielder Younès Belhanda. Belhanda was set to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce after agreeing personal terms with them.
However, recent events have lead to Montpellier president Louis Nicollin to state in AMKSpor, “We have reached an agreement with Inter over a transfer fee of €14m, Fenerbahce did not want to pay more than €8m. That’s why I have opted to accept Inter’s bid instead. Every player has his price, and €8m is not enough for Belhanda.”
This would be second player going out of Montpellier in recent days after the departure of their skipper Yanga-Mbiwa to Newcastle. The playmaking midfielder was a crucial part of Montpellier’s Ligue 1 winning squad in 2011/12. Belhanda is currently away on international duty for Morocco in the African Cup of Nations.
