Stats: Most saves by goalkeepers in the 2015/16 Premier League
The Premier League is filled with several outstanding goalkeepers, but who has been the best shot-stopper so far this season? At the end of the last season, Lukasz Fabianski held the record for most number of saves, but he lost out in the race for the golden glove to Joe Hart by one clean sheet.
Although the statistics might not support David de Gea, he was one of the most outstanding goalkeepers in the league last season. He saved Manchester United on several occasions in the 2014/15 campaign by making some incredible saves for them. The Spaniard, though, is currently being sidelined by his manager Louis van Gaal due to his tumultuous transfer saga involving Real Madrid.
While prior statistics can define a player’s credibility, it means little at the start of a new season as anything could happen

At the moment, Sunderland's goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon hold the record for most number of saves this season, while Tim Krul and Tim Howard trail the Romanian by one save.
While Petr Cech's worth was put into question after his disastrous debut against West Ham, he redeemed himself in the match against Liverpool where he made 8 saves, with some ridiculous ones that helped his team finish the game in a draw.
Most clean sheets
Rank | Name | Team | Apps | Clean Sheets |
1 | Joe Hart | Manchester City | 3 | 3 |
2 | Simon Mignolet | Liverpool | 3 | 3 |
3 | Sergio Romero | Manchester United | 3 | 3 |
4 | Heurelho Gomes | Watford | 3 | 2 |
5 | Adrian | West Ham United | 2 | 1 |
6 | Petr Cech | Arsenal | 3 | 1 |

8 | Brad Guzan | Aston Villa | 3 | 1 |
9 | Tim Howard | Everton | 3 | 1 |

Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet, Manchester United's Sergio Romero, and Manchester City’s Joe Hart are the only goalkeepers to have a 100% clean sheet record so far. Mignolet though has been the luckiest of the lot as the 2 goals that went past him in the previous two games were canceled due to the referee’s decision.
