Mourinho wants to help Falcao and thinks Cuardardo will come good next season

Mourinho feels that he can help Falcao to recapture his old form

With rumours suggesting that Falcao will move to Chelsea next season, Mourinho added more fuel to the fire by saying that he wanted to help the striker to get back to his old form. Mourinho had already indicated few days back that he wanted a new striker for next season as Didier Drogba departed Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.

Mourinho, a long time admirer of Falcao wants him at Chelsea to partner Diego Costa in attack. Mourinho believes he can help the Colombian recapture his old form.

"It hurts me that people in England believe that Falcao is the one seen at Manchester United," Mourinho told DirecTV Sports. "He is a player who I know, who I have followed since Atletico Madrid, and if I can help Falcao to reach his level, I will do it.”

It was at Porto that Falcao earned his reputation of being a deadly striker. He managed to score 41 goals in just 51 games. Then he moved to Atletico Madrid where continued to be deadly in front of goal scoring 52 goals in 62 appearances.

But that did not stop him from leaving for cash-rich AS Monaco in the summer of 2013. Though his time at Monaco was hampered by a major knee injury which kept him out of the 2014 World Cup. After recovering from the injury, he was loaned to Manchester United where he could not make much of impact scoring only 4 times in 26 appearances.

I have high hopes for Cuadrado: Mourinho

Mourinho hopes Copa America can boost Cuadrado self-esteem, his ego, and find that joy of playing

Mourinho confirmed that he is not going to sell Juan Cuadrado, who was mostly on the bench at Chelsea following his move from Fiorentina in February.

There have been many rumours of  him leaving Chelsea for Inter Milan, but with his coach insists that he will be at Chelsea next season, and a move does not seem likely. Mourinho pointed out that the Italian league is completely different from English Premier League and it will take time for him adjust to the surroundings and the style of play.

“In the four or five months that he has been with us, he had to make an adaptation that is not easy," he said. "And he became a champion, won a Capital One Cup, and that will always be in his career.”

"He has suffered, and that is normal -- it is one thing to play in Italy and another to play in England -- and it is not easy to arrive in January to a team that is winning and playing well, and adapt to a different system: Fiorentina played with five defenders, while we play with four.“

Mourinho hopes that Cuadrado will come good eventually and play like how he did earlier at Fiorentina and Udinese before. Mourinho thinks that Copa America will be a good platform for him to recapture his form.

"People haven't yet seen Cuadrado. I saw him in Italy, at Udinese, when I was at Inter. I saw him play many times and he is a guy I have high hopes for next season.

"I hope that at the Copa America he can boost his self-esteem, his ego, and find that joy of playing.”
