MS Dhoni scores brilliant goal off Virat Kohli's assist in charity match

It is of course well known that the Indian cricket team practices its footballing skills during warm-ups. Indian limited overs captain MS Dhoni has admitted time and again that he loves football quite a bit.

India Test captain Virat Kohli is also an avid follower of the game as revealed recently in his twitter exchanges with Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane and the Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

The Dhoni-Kohli partnership has bailed the Indian team out of trouble quite often recently in the Asia Cup and the ICC World T20 2016. Their brilliant understanding was now seen on a football pitch when Kohli, who was leading the side, played a beautiful assist to set Dhoni up for a cracking finish.

Dhoni is a big fan of Manchester United

The duo recently played for the All Heart Football Club against the Abhishek Bachchan-led All Stars Football Club in a charity match in Delhi and eventually emerged victorious 4-3.

The goal would be a treat to watch even for avid followers of football. It started with Kohli playing a beautiful lobbed pass to MS Dhoni. Dhoni held his run perfectly to remain onside, received the ball on his chest and then sprinted past the defenders. He then took the goalkeeper out of the equation and calmly slotted the ball into the net.

It was a proper centre-forward's goal with the run in behind the defenders and an inch-perfect finish. The calmness that he showed was what cricket lovers have been witness to for all these years. Sunil Chhetri who was the coach of the side acknowledged Dhoni's brilliance and was seen clapping in jubilation beside the touchline.

Dhoni's love for football is of course well known. He has already visited Old Trafford, the home ground of Manchester United and is also one of the co-owners of the ISL franchise Chennaiyin FC. He is currently leading the Rising Pune Supergiants in the Indian Premier League.
