Five Bayern Munich players who have improved under Jupp Heynckes
Bayern's fine form under Jupp Heynckes continued as they thrashed Beşiktaş 5-0 on Tuesday.
Bayern, who had a torrid start to the season, sacked their manager Carlo Ancelotti after a rumored dressing room unrest following a 3-0 defeat to PSG in the UEFA Champions League.
He was then replaced by Heynckes, who took the charge of the Bavarians for the fourth time. Since then, Bayern have sky-rocketed to the top of the league and are now 19 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Only Borussia Monchengladbach managed to take all three points from Bayern, as they defeated the defending champions 2-1 back in November. It is the only game Bayern have failed to win since Heynckes took charge.
That said, how did Heynckes managed to turn Bayern's form around? Which players have improved most under him?
#1 Thomas Muller
Muller was one of the players who reportedly had a fall out with Carlos Ancelloti. It was very evident in his form too. In the six games Muller played under Ancelotti, he had scored just once and had a shot accuracy rate of menial 36%.
Things, however, have changed dramatically since his former manager took charge.
He has managed to add four more goals under his belt, and his shot accuracy is at a remarkable 60% now. His duel success rate has gone from a 29% under Ancelotti to 42% once Heynckes took charge.
This shouldn't be a surprise, though. They have worked together before. They know everything about each other and Heynckes knows how to bring the best out of the German international.
