Mumbai FC sign Hatifie and Barikzai to make it an all-Afghan line-up
I-League side Mumbai FC have completed their quota of four foreigners by signing midfielder Ahmad Arash Hatifie and striker Hashmatullah Barikzai both from Afghanistan, who now make it an all Afghan foreign line-up alongside defender Zohib Islam Amiri and striker Sandjar Ahmadi.
Mumbai FC have been having problems to fill their foreign quota for the campaign with seasoned Ghanaian Yakubu Yusif having not returned while other Africans could not be signed for different reasons. Then at the start of the I-League striker Orok Essien was signed on loan from Kolkata side Railway FC, but after listless performances in recent matches he was released by the club.
Now midfielder Ahmad Arash Hatifie has been signed from the Bay Area Ambassadors in the USA, while striker Hashmatullah Barikzai joins Mumbai FC from Kabul Bank FC.
Earlier in the season striker Sandjar Ahmadi had been signed from SC Vier- und Marschlande in Germany, while Afghanistan captain and MFC defender Zohib Islam Amiri has been playing at the club since early 2012.
