Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis to sue Italian government for €100 million for Higuain injury
Gonzalo Higuain, the Argentine international, who signed for Napoli for a fee of €39m, injured himself when he was holidaying in a hired boat in the Capri region of Italy when he landed on a few submerged rocks.
Higuain, reported to be bleeding through the mouth after the incident sustaining two more wounds which needed a total of eight stitches, while his neck was supported by braces.
Napoli owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis, was furious and suggested that there was a much bigger issue when it comes to Italian healthcare.When asked about the situation, the Napoli boss said, “I have not met with Higuain, But I want to see this cut to see if I can sue the region of Campania and Capri.”
He further said: “An actor, a footballer, an ordinary person – when they go to hospital they must be looked after well. “I saw a picture of the wound and I am willing to ask my lawyers to ask for €100m in damage – a figure that I will donate to charity.
“I’m tired of not having equal medical care. Politicians must be taught a lesson. I’m tired of not having equal medical care. Politicians must be taught a lesson.”
Moving away from the topic he talked about the in-the-spotlight defender Juan Zuniga and that he had been offered a bumper deal to keep the player from drifting towards Juventus. He also said that he had offered the player 40 percent more than what the Turin outfit offered.
It is still unconfirmed about Higuain’s extent of injury and the amount of games he would miss.
